ScubaPro GO Sport Gorilla Fins Review 2024
Переглядів 496 годин тому
Snappy, responsive, fast, and comfortable-that’s how we describe the ScubaPro GO Sport Gorilla fins. They’re built much like the original ScubaPro GO Sport fins, with added rigidity and increased length and width. These fins are also designed to wear with boots, unlike the original GO Sport fins. They are still extremely lightweight and are great for travel! ▬ Read More & Check Prices ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬...
SEAC Tajaman Dive Knife Review 2024: Best Budget Knife
Переглядів 69День тому
The SEAC Tajaman is our pick for the best budget knife. It’s easily accessible, regardless of the thickness of gloves you use. The sheath holds the knife secure, and it’s easy to get out-but it does have some problems going back into the sheath. Because the point is so sharp and the sheath is a simple canvas, it gets hung up a lot. Don’t let that discourage you though. The Tajaman cuts through ...
Benchmade Intersect and Promate Titanium BC Dive Knife Review 2024: Best Travel/Compact Knives
Переглядів 110День тому
The Benchmade Intersect and the Promate Titanium BC dive knives tied as our picks for the best compact/travel knives. They’re fairly accessible, though being so small means the thicker your gloves are, the harder they become to pull out and put back in their sheaths. The Promate Titanium BC knife has small levers that release the knife, and this can become an issue. The Benchmade Intersect has ...

Переглядів 1515 днів тому
With a brand-new upgrade, the Hollis F1 LT fins are lighter and more agile than their predecessors. If you dive in and around wrecks and reefs, explore tunnels or squeeze into swim-throughs, you’re going to want these fins. Finesse is the word when you’re trying not to kick up silt or harm the delicate reef system, and the Hollis F1 LT fins scream finesse. They’re a little heavier and negativel...
EEZYCUT Trilobite and Dive Rite Line Cutter Dive Knife Review 2024: Best Line Cutters
Переглядів 1327 днів тому
The EEZYCUT Trilobite and Dive Rite line cutter are our picks for best line cutters. Even if you carry a big knife on your calf you should still have one of these on your BCD. They weigh next to nothing and stay out of the way. But when you need to cut some fishing line or thin rope you’ll be happy you have it. They can even be used to cut the canvas parts of a BCD in an emergency. They are fai...

Tektite Tekna Dive Knife Review 2024 - Best Most Durable Knife
Переглядів 921 день тому
The Tektite Tekna is our pick for the most durable knife. Spyderco Salt 2 Dive Knife Review 2024: Best Folding Knife
Переглядів 17827 днів тому
Folding knives are relatively new to the diving world, but that’s not stopping us from recommending them. The Spyderco Salt 2 is our pick for best folding knife, and might just be one of the best knives on the market. It’s easily accessible, regardless of the thickness of gloves you use. It folds, so it’s easy to open and close. We’re not talking about cooking, but it cuts through rope like but...
XS Scuba Mini FogCutter Dive Knife Review 2024: Most Versatile Knife
Переглядів 11228 днів тому
The XS Scuba Mini FogCutter is our pick for the most versatile knife. It has shears, a straight edge, and a serrated edge. The tip is blunted so you can use it to pry something open or even as a screwdriver in a pinch. Due to its small size it can be tough to pull out and get back in the sheath while wearing thick gloves, but you can mount it anywhere you choose, whether you want it on your BCD...
Benchmade Undercurrent Dive Knife Review 2024: Best High-End Knife
Переглядів 23328 днів тому
The Benchmade Undercurrent is our pick for the best high-end knife-don’t discount it because it’s pricey though. This knife is a beast. It’s one of the larger knives we tested, but it’s also comfortable in your hand. It’s easy to get in and out of the sheath with all but the thickest gloves. Note though that the lock tab is pretty small and the sheath is not ambidextrous. That means if you try ...
Benchmade H2O Dive Knife Review 2024: Best All-Around Knife
Переглядів 25628 днів тому
The Benchmade H2O is our pick for best all-around knife. The H2O may have the best line cutter on the market-you just happen to get great straight and serrated blades attached. Round it off with a blunt tip that you can pry with and you’ve got yourself a multi-faceted, top-notch piece of equipment. Though it's easily accessible, the handle is on the smaller side and it’s so light that you lose ...
Spyderco Native 5 Salt Dive Knife Review 2024: Best Daily Use Knife
Переглядів 9928 днів тому
The Spyderco Native 5 Salt is our pick for best daily use knife-this is the knife I would want to carry in my pocket every day, but it’s also great as a dive knife. It’s easily accessible, regardless of your glove thickness and, as a folding knife, there’s no need for the hassle of a sheath. Not only is it lightweight, the cutting capabilities are amazing. It cuts through rope with ease, includ...
Akona Talon Dive Knife Review 2024: Best Mid-Range Knife
Переглядів 7228 днів тому
The Akona Talon is our pick for best mid-range dive knife. It’s easily accessible, regardless of the thickness of gloves you use. The sheath makes an audible click, and you can feel it seat nicely. While the serrated edge and line cutter had some issues cutting, the straight edge cuts through 550-cord rope with ease, and can handle a ¼-inch poly braided “dock rope” with a little effort. ▬ Read ...

I’m trying my x4 underwater, I’m wondering if it is truly works without the case? I’m scared I’ll used it without and it will break it.😵💫
I use these and love them! I agree with your comments about helicopter turns and back kicks. I miss them when traveling (too heavy) but they are my fin of choice when diving locally.
I am an instructor who is looking at having something to use to monitor time in the pool for confined water sessions (As I primarily teach that in Delhi) and I can also use on my dives potentially. I am thinking of replacing my Apple Watch 4 with this, recommended? I am thinking maybe I don't have to subscribe to the oceanic app regularly, I can subscribe before a dive trip and then unsubscribe.
Thanks
Mine are 30 years old🤣
Garmin is trying too hard to serve several sports instead of putting a clear focus. For 900 bucks this is not good enough, gonna stick to Shearwater.
The camera on its own in water will not stich the frames correctly, even in shallow water. The dive case allows the stitching to be alot better.
Any review of Tecline Lightjet fins pending? Made in Poland, not sure if available in your neck of the woods.
I just starting in scuba and i am short guy , can you suggest fins for me? Thanks good video
😂😂 there is no way, not even close
Better price only
MK 25 / S 620 Ti fan as i do deep dives every week-end ( 130 dives last year ) . Check the fish in my picture you will understand
Does any one has used it and can give an actual feedback ? Is it better to the Garmin Mk3i or at least comparable ? I am diving at maximum 60m OCR and have an EON core today some I am hesitant to move to garmin or to the Ocean to stay in the Suunto world… Also I am quite interested by the fact it can tell your dive route, is that working well? Is it working underwater as a kind of “GPS” ? Thanks a lot 😅
I'm a big guy. I had to modify my aqualung bcd to accommodate my size. My dive shop got the same bcd in for 3xl-5xl size. He let me try it in the pool and man, I love it. I got him to order me one. The only thing is I'm going to change out the inflator because it takes a different hose connector from all the standard connectors I have. That is only thing bad about it, but overall great bcd for big guys
Thanks for sharing
Personally I prefer a basic hogarthian bp/w, al skeleton bp, double cam band, with replaceable inner donut bladder, dump valves, weight and trim pockets, lots of D rings
7:16 😂😂😂
In the release firmware a) the underwater compass has not been implemented and b) beware of entering dive mode (e.g. to look at your new pretty toy’s capabilities) … I’ve not found any way to end the dive by using the buttons (nor is it documented). I had to change the start depth to 30cm and fill the bath to fake doing a dive + ascent to trigger the dive end countdown. Feels like it was released prematurely.
Okay, that's a really bad start for a new product. Thanks for sharing!
so glad Suunto finally designed a dive computer + sports watch combo💙and for a much more reasonable price!
Yes, the pricepoint is much better and the same as the D5, which seems like the better value added here.
Would be useful to rate fins for dive type e.g. wreck and cave diving suitability...in which case splits and overly long fins are OUT
Let us know what you think about the new Suunto Ocean.
The Tusa Switch Pro is much better than the regular Switch. I found the regular too floppy as well. The Pro is much stiffer and more efficient which also translated well to frog kicks.
Nice video try some asian made fins next time like gull or problue
Spec same.?
Does the smaller one has torchlight? Same spec?
No, led flashlight. It can light up the screen, but not as bright as the larger one.
You forgot to tell people to put the little white things in there to keep the dive case from getting condensation on the inside. I noticed because I wanted to know how often they should changed.
True. I didn't have them in either, as we forgot them back home :(
How much stress do the Supernova 's put on your legs ? I'm 65 now and very average strength legs. Thanks so much. Chuck
Thank you for the comprehensive review. I have been wanting to change my all time favorite Apollo Bio Pro Split Fin (aka my only fin since 2004) to Scubapro Seawing Supernova, but I am afraid they would be too stiff and cause ankle cramps. Any tips for a split fin user like me who wants to change to blade fin? Thank you.
Do you have ankle/cave problems, or is it just a thing you're worried about? I've dived a lot in splitfins, but I don't have issues going from split to paddle fins. Why do you want to change from split fins?
Hi, thank you for replying. It’s just a thing i’m worried about. I want to change to that specific Supernova, merely because of the two piece design - looks easy to pack for travel and the good review about that fin - for speed and power in strong current.
Absolute trash channel
I am a new diver and am thinking of getting the Mares Prestige BCD. Or should I look at another BCD?
It's a great jacket-style BCD that works for new divers. Mares is a good brand that creates long-lasting dive gear.
54?
No, it's 51. I do think I say 54 one time, but that's just me messing up.
Need to see if tracking could be added so you are able to go back to the boat
Like find my iPhone, but just with divers? Find my diver, could be a new Apple feature.
It seems that the footage still lack of sharpness underwater, I guess it has to do with the refraction, the X3 underwater image quality is unusable, X4 looks a little bit better but still looks terrible if reframed. I'll stick to the InstaGo2 with underwater case I guess.
thanks for posting! the clamp removal and restoration is exactly what i needed to see. hope i do as good of a job😃
We're glad you could use it!
Great review. One missing thing that the App doesn’t give you your average depth after the dive.
Good point! They are updating a lot of features, so if you submit it to Oceanic, it might be a ting they'd add in the future.
6:27 okay question. What is the highest nitrox percentage for this. Because the dive shop near me That I got it from. He said it was workable for nitrox mixtures up to 80%.
For the Cressi XS Compact AC2?
What fins for quiet snorkeling ?
Does anyone know if the crissi frog + float ? I like the regular frog weight for snorkeling, doesn't float, quiet fins
Great review
Thanks!
When it is used wint the legs kit you need something for driving it. It's difficult diving with the doble attached on your legs?
Thanks much for the comprehensive review. I learned much from this. Btw my go to fins are the Apollo Bio Fins. It is a Japanese product which might not be widely available where you are, and not included in your test. However is is a great product. A split fin from solid rubber material. Great ease of finning like split fins but with great solid feeling of the channel fins. You should try and review it one day.
Thank you from Egypt :)
Our pleasure!
$4,000.00 for the kit seems very expensive.
Can you tell me if the app keeps the logged dives in memory when you buy the one month subscription for example? Just bought an Ultra 2 and I don't dive a lot anymore. Great useful review, thanks a lot!
No 360 camera will stich underwater without the dive case! Clearly you no nothing about 360 cameras!
You mentioned it doesn’t travel well.. why? Just the weight of the SS?
BPW setups are generally heavier than traditional jacket-style BCDs, making them a bit difficult to travel with. The tradeoff is that you don’t need much, if any, additional weight. For instance, I can dive in a BPW with a steel tank and a 5mm wetsuit and I don’t need any additional lead.
Hmmm interesting I will definitely look at it in November
Check it out. It's great to see the dive industry develop.
I think all these videos are just fake, even this one. It is totally vissible and terible stitching actually video is unusuable.
Which parts of the video do you think is fake? You can see the stitching, but does that make the video unusable?
Any thoughts on the Hollis Elite?
Hi There, We're testing backplate systems atm. so stay tuned for the update later this year.
really comprehensive .. thanks for your efforts on this
Glad you liked it.
I've been using it for almost 3 years, easy to use and clean, great photos and videos, camera battery will easily take on 3 to 4 dives, setup is very easy
Thanks for sharing!
